Course Title:Collaboration Between Speech Pathologists and Audiologists for Children with Hearing Loss

Course Description:

This course explores the collaborative roles of speech-language pathologists and audiologists in supporting children with hearing loss from diagnosis through intervention and long-term outcomes. Participants will learn how audiologic assessment and amplification device decisions inform therapy planning, and how speech and auditory verbal therapies support listening, speech, and language development. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary communication, shared outcome measures, and coordinated counseling with families across clinical, educational, and home settings. The course also addresses classroom accommodations, assistive technologies, and broader support systems involved in pediatric hearing care. Hands-on experience will allow participants to explore hearing devices, understand their components, and practice basic troubleshooting.

Learners will be required to complete a self assessment at the end of this course.
